What Is The Minimum Needed For A Gti To Run?

What needs to be connected for a Gti to start and run?

 

Say you had a bare shell and wanted to put the absolute minimum in to run the car, as I'm sure a lot of you dedicated track boys do. What would you have to connect?

 

The whole ecu/loom/tach relay. and power to the fuel pump. What the minimum for the ignition side? Connect up the battery, starter solenoid and an earth to a switch? Whats required for the coil, ignition amp etc?

 

What else is essential?

 

Been offered a 1.9 for spares because it got attacked by theives apparently prepping it to strip, most of the bits are inside the car but the wirings a mess! All ripped to bits and seemingly randomly torn out. The question of making it run came up in a drunken conversation with a mate tonight and got me thinking. I also may have drunkenly taken the challenge to make it run
