if you want to keep it in the car, could you not wire it up with a switch? take a main feed put it through a switch and just turn it on an off when you wanted?

shouldnt think it would be to much trouble.

-edit, just seen the tempory bit.

i am sure you can buy female sockets to wire in , but why not just nip to the local scrappy and take one out of another motor for now just cable tie it to something and run it to a positive supply

If your local halfords boys are friendly enough, they may let you have a female cigarette socket from their hardwire kit. If not let me know and ill grab you one for nowt :)

You can buy an extension kit from Maplin for a few pounds. Just chop of the male end and you have a wired up female connector ready to connect to the cars power supply.

As said, only a quid or so from Maplin. I fitted one behind & underneath the head unit area for my Roadangel. Just need to find a switched positive & earth to branch into.

Mark.
