notamondayfan 44 Posted August 10, 2006 (edited) hey all, its time to decide what exactly i want to do with regards to my engine. so many variables its untrue. the car that needs the engine is a 1.9 dimma, which is nearly completed, so its time to think about engines. currently it has a 1.9 8v, with about 70k on it. i currently have two plans. 1. buy a 16 v, drop it in pretty much standard and away i go. 2. i have a 1.9 8v block, with 83.5mm liners, and forged omega pistons to match. the crank has been lightened and balanced. it has new oil and water pumps. i bought this complete about 6 months ago. it has done around 6000 miles since its rebuild. there isnt a head, fly wheel or anything else with it at the moment. so that plan was to get a decent head, pair of 45's and mappable ignition. which way do you think i should go? also, i will be selling parts i dont need, so how much do u think the 1.9 (with 70k) would go for? and how much do u think the 1.9 block is worth? any advice much appreciated, cheers, dean! edit: to add, the car will just be used for fun, no commuting, as i can walk to work. max0 5 Posted August 10, 2006 i picked up a 1.6 8v engine, gear box and ecu with all aux for £30 from another forum member. Its prob worth more on ebay. if you decide to sell the 1.9 id be intresed so send me a pm if you go down the 16v route Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

notamondayfan 44 Posted August 11, 2006 i think it was possibly the block i bought. it was from somewhere just outside york. if your interested PM me, as your only about an hour away me. i believe the 1.9 in the car at the moment is genuine millage, the only mod it had when i bought the car was a k&n kit, but i have all the other stuff to go with it. which 16v would people recomend? i also have a full magnex system. obviously the manifold wont fit, but has any one used these with 16v's? its just that i have a spare one, and would sell that too if its not needed. thanks, dean Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
