allanallen 528 2 Cars Posted August 9, 2006 afternoon, I'm removing a 2.0 mi16 out of 405 tommorow and it has a son of bitch keypad immobiliser on it. I've done a search and its mentioned a couple of times that if you run the engine and then unplug the keypad the ECU will magically stay unlocked. Does anyone know if this atually works??? or would it be wiser to strip all the keypad gubbins out of the 405 and then fit it into the 205 along with the engine?? cheers in advance al... sonofsam 5 Posted August 9, 2006 although if its a keypad, you would be advised to decode it before the engine is removed. to do this, start the engine with code as normal, change the code if required for later use to something easy to remember, ie 1111, then disconnect the keypad with the engine running. next time you start it up keep keypad disconected and it will start without a code. Yeah its supposed to work-give it a whirl, however if you know the code i would be tempted to keep all that, as an added security measure in the 205.
