Hose Kit

Recommended Posts

Guest ashnicholls

Are the hoses the same on a 309 as on the 205,

because i have bought a hose kit from venair for my 309, and none of the pipes get anywhere near it.

Here is what I have.

pic

Will this fit a 309 or 205 for that matter.

A pre 88 car.

Just fitting my new engine and none of the hoses fit.

Blind panic, as my car may now be off the road for ages.

EDIT: PIC TOO LARGE

when you say don't fit, you mean are not long enough ?

Looking at the shapes they seem about right for a pre 91 (there is the short pipe that fits under the thermostat housing) 1.9 8v 205.

well some seem to be too long, some too short and on some the angles appear to be wrong.

the pipes that go onto the heater matrix from the water distributor appear too long and the pipes from the water distributor to the radiator and from the radiator to the water housing seem to be the wrong angle. There doesnt appear to be a pipe long enough from the top of the rod to the expansion tank. I have got an 88 engine.

Are the kits for the 205 and 309 the same, I thought so as the engines are the same?

Cheers

Ash

You know where I am so if you want to pop over and measure up my water pipes to compare, just let me know.

309 Hoses are different to the 205 ones, the top hose offtake on the radiator is a different angle. Some say it can be made to fit but when I looked at doing so I wasn't happy with the kink I'd put into it by making it fit.

Other than that, the lower radiator hoses are the same, as are the ones to the expansion tank & heater matrix afaik but looking at the picture you've linked to there are far to many hoses for a 205 imo.

Graham.
