littlemike 0 Posted August 8, 2006 As title. I need a 200-300mm longer speedo cable than a 205 one so that I can route it around the Gti6 exhaust manifold a little better than the length of the 205 cable will allow. The gearbox end of the cable must be the same, but is the speedo/clock end the same? I'd of guessed so, but Pug are telling me that it looks different in the pictures that they've got? If anyone knows different cable lengths that would be good too My 205 cable's around 1100mm long.
littlemike 0 Posted August 8, 2006 Anyone know if the ends are the same?
16v205 9 Posted August 8, 2006 Ive got no idea but need to do the same as mines getting melted on the gti-6 manifold. Ive cable tied the speedo cable to the gear selector rod loosly and its staying away from the manifold for the time being but would like a longer one really. Carl Chambers 7 2 Cars Posted August 8, 2006 but would like a longer one really. Rich thats what she said anyway I think the ends are the same but not 100% sure. I cheated on mine cause I put the whole lot in with diggy dash and electronic speedo with no cable! not quite as easy as just putting a longer cable on though! sonofsam 5 Posted August 9, 2006 If it helps im using a 405 throttle cable on my 205 Turbo, both ends are the same plus its about 70% longer.
littlemike 0 Posted August 19, 2006 I've now fitted a pre 1993 405 speedo cable to my 205. It's 1200mm long compared to the 205's 1100mm. The ends are exactly the same. You just have to remove 100mm of foam wrap from it as it's only needed under the dash, not through the gromet and into the engine bay. Peugeot part number 612396 Was £20 something pounds.
