Guest twinbridge01 Posted August 6, 2006 Can anyone help!! I have finally finished wiring my 1991 205 gti up to a 1991 mi16 engine. I have used AndyRs guide and everything went straight forward enough. The engine will now turn over but I am not getting any power to the fuel pump. The fuel pump relay does not switch when the engine is turned over either. I thought this might be the problem so I fitted a new one but no joy. Does anyone have any suggestions?? Miles 331 1 Cars Posted August 6, 2006 Are you getting a switching signal to the relay when cranking? if not trace this back as it could be the Power feed or the signal from the ECU

I ll trace it back this weekend and see if im getting a 12v supply when cranking. Ill test it on the original side of the 205 loom. If this is ok I will swap the ecu with a spare to see if that cures it. Have you heard of anyone else having problems like this with the ECU?? Thanks for the info. Miles 331 1 Cars Posted August 7, 2006 Could be the ECU as this switch's the pump on & Off, never seen it before but there's always a first

Chris I had this problem a while back - but check the crank sensor first, because if the ecu isn't getting a signal it won't know the engines turning and consequently wont energise the pump relay.
