Flooded Engine

Recommended Posts

DaveK

The mi flooded (which i think was due to not having an ecu temp plug on) but ive managed to get it running again. The thing is there is fumes coming out of the inlet manifold at the air filter. It doesnt idle very well just now either.

Is this just because its been flooded or is there something else amiss?

Cheers

Dave

Out of the inlet when the engine is running? That seems unlikely given that the engine is sucking...you would expect any fumes to be drawn in.

Does it still run rough now with the temp sensor connected, how about when you give it some throttle? Dont think fumes once engine has stopped will be anything to worry about if its flooded as some of the inlet valves will be open letting them out.

surely that's just oil vapours being routed round the breather system back into the inlet?
