EnglishRob 0 Posted August 2, 2006 Hi folks, This isn't stictly Pug related but I'm hoping someone might have an idea about this one... My girlfriend has a Citroen Xantia 2.0L 8v. It's not been used for a good few weeks due to an oil leak and suspension problems which need fixing. I had to get something out of the car earlier, when I locked the car and rather than the indicators flashing as normal, the right hand side indicators stayed on! I was wondering if anyone has seen this one before? The car seems to de-immobilise okay and starts without any trouble. My first thought was maybe a flat battery but I've been told by the girlfriend the indicators work okay normally and it will turn itself off after a while, and I wondered if anyone had seen something similar. It's a keypad immobiliser with a remote keyfob and central locking. Rob
jackherer 543 Posted August 2, 2006 I've not had that exact problem on any of my xantias before but I'd guess its a sticking relay. The one in question is above the drivers knee behind a door. On my xantia v6 that relay sometimes clicks on and off randomly while driving, this is caused by dirty contacts on the indicator stalk, a wiggle of the stalk cures it for a few months usually. French cars electrics are truely beyond a joke
EnglishRob 0 Posted August 3, 2006 Ok I'll have a look at that one. I'm hoping thats all it is, we're thinking of selling the Xantia and with something like this happening it wouldn't be a good selling point. Rob
