Guest ashnicholls Posted August 2, 2006 Are all lift up reverse gear sticks the same. Ie is the base model gear stick (1.1) the same as the gti. As far as i can see the gear boxes dont look much difference, ie in there working. So i think the gear sticks will be the same, are they? cheers ash
M@tt 77 Posted August 2, 2006 yes all lift up reverse sticks should be the same infatc a be3 one is identical apart from it doesn't have the hole in the shaft for the roll pin which holds the cable gubbins thingy to it, madness!!!as they are identical in every other way. I found this out when my DIY quickshift broke and paintguy kindly came to the rescue with a be3 one he had at home. However it meant i couldn't get reverse for about a week until i got my stick welded back up agian and refitted. fun and games pushing it out of car parking spaces
Guest ashnicholls Posted August 2, 2006 Would have thought so? Its just someone told me all the linkages would be different. Even though the working of both the 1.1 and xu gear boxes look the same. So was not sure whether the 1.1 stick will be the same anyone got any experience with this? Cheers

Guest ashnicholls Posted August 4, 2006 Incase anyone cares, all the gearsticks and linkages are the same between base model and gti models. Just fitted quick shift and uprated rods, and its awesome now.
