1.9 Gti H Reg Weak Spark And Over Fueling Ideas?

Mate just fitted a 1900 GTi engine intohis 1.9 and when you try to start it straight away smells of fuel, he says the spark is weak Any ideas???? he changed the plugs cap and arm and leads, i said it could be got the water temp plug wrong way round with SAD could it be?

Lots of fuel could be the ECU temp sensor, could be an air leak after the AFM (e.g. the bolt into the inlet manifold that holds the oil filler on) Possibly the AFM connector not on. Could just be AFM set-up...

sorted went to have a look for him , he put the black sad plug onto the ecu temp sensor all sorted now .
