Edp 67 3 Cars Posted July 31, 2006 On my Mi the oil temp and water temp both sit just after the second line without the car even started. Even first thing in the morning when the car hasnt been used for about 8 hours it stills reads the same. Is this right? surely the gauges should read at the first line and steadily increase as the car gets hot? Is there a way of re positioning them? Even in my Citroen van the water temp starts at the first line. Not the second. Just a thought
j_turnell 137 3 Cars Posted July 31, 2006 The needles can be pulled off if your careful. Do they sit like that with ignition off or when its turned on? P.S you fitted that carpet yet?
Edp 67 3 Cars Posted August 1, 2006 I thought it was you! I was going to hang around and have a chat but my bird wanted to get away. Typical. Havent fitted it yet, maybe saturday. I've carefully pulled the carpet off the grey centre console so its a start. The needles go up when click the key to the first stop. They shoot up to the second line, then when i start her up and she heats up it goes up much further. The car was running at 110 degrees the other day when normal driving. Thats not right is it? I'm going to re position the dials i think. I have a spare set to practice on. Cheers
Guest smokinslim Posted August 1, 2006 It takes a bit of trial and error. When i got the instument panel i'm currently using whoever fitted the white dials messed just about all of them up. I reset the speedo, slightly high to be on the safe side, haven't bothered doing the rest yet. My car sits at 400rpm with the ignition off lol.
DaveW 6 Posted August 1, 2006 you can just fit the spare set on your current dials as there in seperate sections.
