Fuel Leak

Recommended Posts

feb

I noticed a small fuel leak when going up a mountain. Fuel tank was almost full.

The leak is located just behind the driver's side rear wheel, petrol coming down from the panel where the towing eye is on the inside of the bumper. Putting my hand on the upper part of that panel i felt a rubber hose there (couldn't exactly see as i need a torch), is this supposed to be an overflow or is it a leak?

The car doesn't leak when on flat roads. Happened twice when going uphill on two different days. In between those times it was dry.

Thanks :)

Hey mate.

That's the breather outlet for the fuel tank. Perhaps you over-filled the tank and the excess simply exited there. See how you get on over the next few days.

Mine does vent vapour a bit. You'll probably be fine.

Yeh mine leaked from there the other day after I had filed to the brim and parked on a hill, as soon as the level had dropped a bit it was fine.
