smckeown 1 Posted July 30, 2006 I spent this weekend with Steve at SGR sorting some of the outstanding jobs and getting it ready for the MOT. First was sorting out the fan switch. This was on premenant as the OE switch wasn't working. This weekend we used one of the auxilary outputs to control it instead. This means it's configurable and also meant a lot of wiring could be removed. It was really useful using the ECU's output test to ensure the wiring was good. Wiring much neater down there now: Oil was changed next. Boy is it much harder when you also have an oil cooler and accusump, took ages Luckily will be muich easier in the future, as strictly speaking oil in the cooler doesnt need to be changed Next was to solve the issue of a hanging near side hand brakle cable. As the tank is cut in half, there's nothing to support it now. So I new bracked was made up: Lastly just tidied up the under dash wiring, with the new fan switch and switch light wiring: A few other less interesting things were done, so hopefully will get through MOT now. New sun strip added too
Dj_mini 7 Posted July 30, 2006 Should those fuel lines not realy have rubber linned p clips holding them on rather than cable ties so they dont rub?
Jonmurgie 2 Posted July 30, 2006 Good stuff... nice to see that even on a 'ground up' build that Connection Blocks and Cable Ties are still in use How come you've gone for DES Developments sticker on the sun strip?
smckeown 1 Posted July 30, 2006 Well matt had first choice, but i reminded and reminded but it never happened. So just before I desperately needed it for the MOT, neal was up for it and delivered it str8 away.
cybernck 402 1 Cars Posted July 30, 2006 unless you're getting a deal out of it, 205gtidrivers.com would have been better .

smckeown 1 Posted July 30, 2006 Should those fuel lines not realy have rubber linned p clips holding them on rather than cable ties so they dont rub? I believe you only need rubber p clips when you have rubber fuel hose.

S33GAV 0 Posted July 31, 2006 when you sorting out all the other stickers then. Decided on what you're putting and where?
smckeown 1 Posted July 31, 2006 the jury is still out on if i'm going to put them on
Butler 0 Posted July 31, 2006 I wouldn't. I have tried loads of stickers on mine, now its plain, except the rallye grill. You have perfect paint, so polish it and so it off.. although I know thats not the point of the car. If its was a shabby track car I'd sticker it to cover the dents and scratches. smckeown 1 Posted July 31, 2006 yeah i'm coming round to that way of thinking, so i think i'll just wash and wax is (when i get my meguiars back....)
Jonmurgie 2 Posted July 31, 2006 If its was a shabby track car I'd sticker it to cover the dents and scratches. That's what I've done on my current track car... though if I do it again with a nice clean/painted shell I would serioulsy have to think about keeping it very plain and standard, as it does look good like that!
