This Engine Any Good?

just seen this on ebay and have also seen a few at my local scrappy:

can the 205 engine mountings/gearbox etc be used to fit this engine in a 205? and what is the power output ? i think its from a 406 2.0 16v

oooh oooh lots of questions, does the be1 box fit?, will a mi16 inlet manifold fit? (as i am going custom bike tb's) and the top mount ,is that the standard 406 jobbie ? also what sort of power do the creat as standard , and finally what is the engine code for this?

Is that engine by chance also the one that is in the 306 xsi? looks mightily similar if it is the reputed power output is 140 bhp but ................. :blush:

if it is one the 306 gti exhaust manifold is supposed to see some gains when fitted ...... i would do it to mine but want the mi in the 205 first :angry:

Yes it does fit, Use a 306 top mount as the 406 uses the extra brace to stop the engine moving around, 137bhp but will never make GTi6 power just by swaping manifolds. Any Mi inlet manifold will fit inc the S16 thing, the GTi6 exhaust is the best thing you could use on that side of things.

ANy BE box will fit too, Just make sure if your using managment it has the TDC sensor hole as the early boxes don;t have it.

There's quite a few small differnace between the XU10J4R and RS engine.

its a XU10J4R, the GTi6 engine is a XU10J4RS

Depends on the year the early VSX used the XU10J4 engine, around 1994/5 this was used, After that it was the XU10J4R engine, The early one shares the engine with the Phase2 405 and 306 S16

went back to the scrappy today and i think they are all 1.8 16v s the code on them is :

RSA LFY so i a, guessing LFY which is the XU7JP4 engine

bugger !!!! :)
