What Thread Size For 205 Gti 1.9 Wheel Bolts

Recommended Posts

Just a quick one - Does anyone know the thread size of the wheel bolt for the 1.9 standard alloys? Just using a tape measure it looks like a M12x1.25 but can't be sure.

I need to know so that I can buy a tap to run through it as i've stripped the thread somehow, maybe through overtightening?

12 x 1.25 is right. I bought a stud conversion kit about a year ago and thats what size the studs were.

Cheers, is the stud conversion just a case of inserting some studs in! I think i'd rather go for them partly because the Peugeot wheel bolts are so hard to get hold of.

Peugeot still sell them. I bout 12 of them, and 4 locking bolts. The std bolts were around £5 each, and the locking ones, £20 for the set of four iirc. So around £80 for the lot.

If I were to do it again though, I wouldn't buy the std bolts, I would definately convert it to studs, as it makes fitting the wheels so much easier and quicker! :(

Thats what I mean, you can't just buy them at the local motor factors like you can with most other wheel nuts/bolts.

Think i'm going to convert to studs as well, don't like the idea of the bolt system.
