Difference In Braided Hoses?

Recommended Posts

Guest Big Daz

I am converting my 1.6 to a 1.9 rear beam & am intending to fit braided hoses at the same time, I bought a goodridge 1.9 kit (6 hoses total) but there does not appear to be any that fit to the front brake calipers - 4 off have large external & intenal threads on the end and the two with ends that will fit the caliperas are approx 6" long only.

Is there a difference between 1.6 & 1.9 front brake pipes - meaning I have to get a 1.6 kit too

Cheers

i'd have thought the 1.6 and 1.9 front hoses would be the same ?

The front hoses should be the same in both kits.

Only the rear setup is different. The 1.6 kit obviously doesn't have the rearmost pair that go into the calipers, but the the hoses that go round the beam are also different. Which set you need depends on if you've kept the 1.6 pipe setup with the T-peice, or swapped to the full 1.9 pipework.

I'm pretty sure Goodridge will make you up a set with whatever you want if you give them a ring.

Yup, Ryan's got it spot-on

Front hoses are the same on both 1.6 and 1.9's

One of the rear beam flexi's is the same (drivers)

One of the rear beam flexi's is different (passengers)

Obviously the rear caliper flexi's are only in the 1.9 kit

Hmmm, Ok. I have 4 hoses with ends that fit into the joining bit on the inner wing (onto copper brake pipe), how can i convert two of them to fit onto the calipers at one end?

What kit have I got then? LOL
