kyepan 291 Posted July 27, 2006 my Mi16 engine bay, especially the subframe cross member is covered in thick old oily gunk (probably from when the original 1.6 blew up) so I bought some degreaser and was spraying it liberally all over the subframe when doing the anti roll bar bushes over the weekend. After a good wipe down she was looking much less gunky. On firing her up, the oil pressure gauge was reading a good half notch higher... where is the pressure sensor located.. as I cleaned the front of the block too..and am thinking that the oil everywhere is messing with something. Cheers Justin.

AFAIK the sensors for the oil pressure are on the front of the block above the oil filter, just like the 8v.
pug309twin40s 1 Posted July 27, 2006 oil pressure gauge is the mushroom shaped sensor by the engine mount, 2nd 1 along. usually the connection on the sensor gets dirty so your cleaning proberly helped the connection.
