Jonmurgie 2 Posted July 26, 2006 Powerflex? Scrap Yard? They fell off on mine and I don't run them anymore... suspension is stiff enough not to need them!
Anthony 1,003 Posted July 26, 2006 I believe they have been discontinued by pug, so where on earth do you get them from ? I need some ASAP Since when? They were available last time I tried to get some just a couple of months back From memory, 306/ZX/Xsara's use a similar setup and would probably be an easy enough fit. smckeown 1 Posted July 26, 2006 Powerflex? Scrap Yard? They fell off on mine and I don't run them anymore... suspension is stiff enough not to need them! You'll need them for an MOT tho. I had alook at the proflex site, they sel lgeneric ones, any idea which ones are for a pug? Since when? They were available last time I tried to get some just a couple of months back From memory, 306/ZX/Xsara's use a similar setup and would probably be an easy enough fit. Anthony 1,003 Posted July 26, 2006 You'll need them for an MOT tho. I've MOT'd a few cars with them missing and never even had an advisory on it... And yes, the part number is 5166 28 for 205 bumpstops (could also try 5166 10 which is listed as 309 "heavy duty" bumpstop), and from memory they're about £6-7 a side
jackherer 543 Posted July 26, 2006 I've MOT'd a few cars with them missing and never even had an advisory on it... I've had my own 205 fail on one missing bumpstop once but they were being pricks. I superglued an old one on to get it through You're more likely to fail if just one is missing IMO, if both are missing most testers just wont notice. Martin W 0 Posted July 27, 2006 Try Rally Design, they're likely to have them for sure.
Phil 0 Posted July 27, 2006 I've had one missing at MOT time before and spoke to them about it, they said it wasn't even an advisory. Now I have both missing and can't get any from either dealership round my way - They said I would have to pay for them in advance and they might never turn up! Higgy 0 Posted July 27, 2006 Go to the scrappy and kick them off with a size-11 boot. Thats what I did. Just be prepared for lots of swearing/effort in removing the old metal cup the bumpstop sits in. Luckily the cup off the scrap yard car was quite new and in good nick, it unscrewed easily. The cup on my 205, well it did not look like a cup anymore Took quite a bit of effort to remove. If your bumpstop has come off quite recently it might fit into your cup. Higgy.
