pugpete1108 62 1 Cars Posted July 25, 2006 just seen a 306 hdi ( i think , the badge was missing but could just make it out) at my local scrappy , and was wondering wetehr this is a good brake upgrade for my 205 . i know alot of people are using 307 hdi callipers are these the same parts? i didn't have a tape handy so couldn't get the disk size , but they looked alot bigger than mine. will these fit on a 205 ? ashley peddle 3 Posted July 25, 2006 they are a straight swap and are a great upgrade! i have them on my 205 - they take 266mm discs (GSF do Brembo discs for £36 the pair and there the mutts!) if you can get them cheap they are totaly worth the upgrade... you can get better but there more than good enough for a

Rippthrough 98 Posted July 25, 2006 Make sure they are 266's as I;ve seen one or two with 247's.
ashley peddle 3 Posted July 25, 2006 and make a note of the year of the car. also if the car has abs then it takes a different type of pad so make a note of that
Henry Yorke 269 3 Cars Posted July 25, 2006 I have 266mm 307 1.6 calipers on my skip and they do work a treat. Bear in mind that they will only fit on 1.9 hubs not 1.6 ones.

Bear in mind that they will only fit on 1.9 hubs not 1.6 ones. mine is a 1.6 so is it the same with the 306 callipers then? they wont fit .i dont wanna change hubs as i have just replaced both bearings (bitch of ajob) . bugger it just aint my day
Anthony 1,003 Posted July 26, 2006 Pretty much all caliper swaps need 1.9 offset hubs I'm afraid - 1.6 hubs are an odd offset and nothing else fits
pugpete1108 62 1 Cars Posted July 26, 2006 looks like it new hubs aswell then , the list gets bigger everyday . dont suppose anyones got any?
Anthony 1,003 Posted July 26, 2006 Unless you replace the driveshafts as well (as 1.9 are different fitment to 1.6) then you can't run 1.9 hubs on a 1.6. You could run base model hubs though, which will allow you to retain your existing driveshafts and run any brakes (like those 306 items) that'll fit 1.9 hubs.
