kyepan 291 Posted July 24, 2006 Replaced the bushes yesterday, the passenger side one would not clamp back down onto the sub frame because the anti roll bar has a bulge / boss where the bush goes on, this was not reflected in the design of the bush. The poly bushes I took off had a recess built into the mold to accomodate the boss / bulge. So in the end only one side got changed. will be on the phone to the company who made them to see if i got the wrong ones in the pack or they are aware the design is wrong. cheers Justin. PS, dropping the sub frame helped alot, cheers who ever found that one out.

Jonmurgie 2 Posted July 24, 2006 The Powerflex ARB bushes I used fitted fine... what brand did you go for?
kyepan 291 Posted July 24, 2006 (edited) The Powerflex ARB bushes I used fitted fine... what brand did you go for? Powerflex - were yours identical? or was one side different? If so it might be that some ARB's have the boss and others do not. Either way were getting in contact with them to make them aware of this. Jonmurgie 2 Posted July 24, 2006 I will look at the bushes tonight as I've now got a 309 ARB fitted so the Powerflex ones are surplus to requirements
205_sunderland 4 Posted July 24, 2006 i havent seen them but is it not possible to turn a groove in, the material ok to machine long as your over 1500 rpm imo

hengti 2 Posted July 24, 2006 Powerflex must be aware of this by now. Sadly, I don't think they're too bothered I've got a set which I've never fitted either - both bushes are the same; neither has the indent moulded for the locating bump on the n/s The std pug parts are poly anyway though - and they fit ... 16v205 9 Posted July 24, 2006 Mine were exactly the same aswell, no indent for the bump in the arb. Rich
taylorspug 7 Posted July 24, 2006 Ive dealt with Powerflex in the past, and trust me they arent really bothered about minor details like getting bushes to actually fit the car they are intended for. Me and a mate gave them a whole E36 Compact BMW rear axle so they could measure it up to make some bushes, and they still made a complete hash of it. Now a year on the bushes are totalled already. Go for the Pug ones, same material, and properly manufactured.
Hilgie 16 2 Cars Posted July 26, 2006 Get original Pug stuff instead. Pug already makes them from poly, so no use getting bad fitting aftermarket parts.
