jim205GTI 3 Posted July 23, 2006 Trying to remove the gearbox from the car .....managed to remove everything else bar the speedo cable whci i can't seem to remove! the problem is that the rubber wedge thing has snapped so there is not enough showing to get a grip on it to pull it out anyone got any tips on removing it cheers jim Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Wurzel 16 Posted July 23, 2006 If you're really stuck, disconnect it from the instrument binacel and feed it through the bulk head. Once the gearbox is off the car, it should be a little easier to get access to it If the large end has come off though, it should pull straigh through from the thin end side once stretched enough.
