matty_gti 20 Posted July 21, 2006 hi all, ive been given the chance to re-build an engine after my current one hung it self (1.6). i want to turn my new current block into a 1.9 (1.6 is all i could find ). Is it true that if i wanted to do so its just changing pistons, liners, crank, AFM and injectors? Does any one has a list of what can, should or must be done while rebuilding it + i want to up the performance so i think ill want a cam and a gas flowed head. are there any other things to think about if i want to push up the power a little (only an 8V ) O and whats the difference between group A and N engine mounts, and if any one knows which is better? PumaRacing 2 Posted July 21, 2006 Pistons, rods, crank and the 1.9 has a sump spacer plate. Liners are the same. Cam is slightly different. Easier to just find a 1.9 engine complete though for the few quid they cost.

888rmb 6 Posted July 21, 2006 Group A engine mounts are solid, there is no rubber in them. They are really only for competition cars. Group N rubbers are harder rubber than the normal peugeot standard ones. There are a variety of different opinions on these but you probably only want the lower engine mount as a group n mount on a road car. The harder rubber transmits more vibrations into the car but stops the engine moving about so much. Have a search on the forum for other people's opinions on what mounts to use.
