Wurzel 16 Posted July 20, 2006 I ran a blow torch over it (not to burn it but get it hot) Then a non metalic scraper is best but any scraper is good if you are careful to tease it off. Initially I tried removing the gasket from the sump just with a scraper and wish I'd never started. I then thought I'd just burn it off, which it doesn't (heat resistant) and was still going to take ages. I tried scraping again only to find by accident, that it peeled off a treat.
