futura 3 Posted July 19, 2006 My petrol hose that goes from the petrol filter to the injector rail is showing cracks on the surface. I wondered if anybody would know the diameter, is it 8 or 10 millimeters? Thanks
Jonmurgie 2 Posted July 19, 2006 If your running the standard 8v setup then it will be 8mm... Mi16 runs 10mm
futura 3 Posted July 19, 2006 Sorry I should have specified 1.9 8v. Thanks for that
ablister 31 Posted July 19, 2006 thought it was 6mm for the 8v and 8mm for the mi16?

Wurzel 16 Posted July 20, 2006 I bought some 0.25" internal bore fuel injection hose the other day. It pressed on fairly well but I used a couple of fuel line clips for good measure. No leaks to date
Daxed 7 Posted July 20, 2006 Don't wish to hijack, but expand the thread a little....... I'm going to be using a GTI-6 lump, the front to rear metal pipes are rusty. Whats the thoughts on replacing? Do people generally run new metal pipes (from Pug?) or go for a copper set from Automec or elsewhere? (I have searched and have read some of the concerns expressed as to using copper as a material for fuel). Or do people run new flexible fuel pipe? If f;exible and i have no intention of running it inside the shell should it be armoured? Any advice appreciated. Cheers
ablister 31 Posted July 20, 2006 the metal fuel pipe from peugeot is just a roll of pipe and not contoured to the car. It's very difficult to bend the right way and i gave up trying to as all the bends have to be exact or it'll pop out of the clips. You will also need to get it flared at the ends to connect to the rubber pipe. I bought rubber hose instead and have got the one piece of pipe from tank > filter and same for return. Only problem with this is you can't use the std filter. If you are wanting to get the proper peugeot pipe, the one roll is enough for both feed and return despite the parts screen saying 2 pipes are needed.
