allanallen 528 2 Cars Posted July 18, 2006 afternoon guys,My mi16 flywheels got 2 hairline cracks/fractures on the bit the clutch runs on. the longest 1 is no more than 10mm long, Should i turn a blind eye and chuck it back in or try and find a replacement. I would say skimming it is out of the question as there isn't a great deal of material left on it. Can anyone advise me???? cheers al

Rob_the_Sparky 10 Posted July 18, 2006 Given that it is no small job to get a fly off once fitted it would seem sensible to get it checked before putting it on.
petert 601 Posted July 19, 2006 There's always heaps of material. If done properly, the outside will be relieved approx. 1mm below the clutch surface. Why wouldn't you fix it?
mbayley77 0 Posted July 19, 2006 Imagine the passenger losing a leg cos of when it comes through the bulkhead when it splits in at 6000RPM. I think id get it checked out personnally.
