Gti Rear Beam On A Base Model

Recommended Posts

stealth_pug

Hi, i have just finished fitting an AX GT engine into my base model 205. It goes so well now but i think i need to upgrade the brakes and handling. I already have bilstein GTI struts on the front and 15" speedlines. I am thinking of getting a gti rear beam with discs on. Would this fit on or would i have to have my rear arches flaired because of the slightly wider hubs and wheels??

Also what options do i have for upgrading my front brakes?

thanks for any help

Not sure about the arch clearance question but I would recommend a GTI front subframe too, I put one on a CTI (these have base model setups at the front as standard) and the difference it makes is immense. You need to replace the wishbones and fit the anti roll bar as well, if you already have GTI struts you should have the mounting lugs for the anti roll bar drop links although the brake pipe mounts in the wheel arch may need relocating to clear them.

should bolt on and fit no problem, might rub if your car is lowered...
