j-16 1 Posted July 13, 2006 Hi, There's lots of topics around on wishbones but what i can't see is, is it possible to replace the boot over the ball joint? Surely it's not necessary to replace both wishbones because of split boots? Cheers, James

Especially useful if you damage them when removing the hub as you've not lost lubricant.
mi16nut 0 Posted July 14, 2006 An 'old school' motor factors amy be able to find you something that will fit. I'm sure it's been mentioned that boots from a Morris Minor or similar could work. Mark.

Beastie 1 Posted February 8, 2007 It was probably me who mentioned that Morris Minor track rod end boots fit the ball joints really well. I fitted a pair to mine when I bought it 5 years ago and they are still going strong 40,000 miles later. There are loads of Morris suppliers around the country so they might be worth a try.... it's been 6 happy years since I owned a Minor so I'm a little out of touch with all that sort of stuff at the moment
Gentrix 2 1 Cars Posted February 9, 2007 I heard today, that a boot of a Track Rod End will fit. And I have a spare one somewhere in my Garage. Will have a look at it. andi
VisaGTi16v 1 Posted February 9, 2007 Let me know if it does as I have a pair of 309 arms to go on my car but 1 boot is shot. I thought you could buy them seperately but not according to this thread? Track rod ends are dirt cheap on ebay though.

I thought you could buy them seperately but not according to this thread? Track rod ends are dirt cheap on ebay though. Tried to rip the boot of the spare 106 Trackrodend, but failed. They are glued on with Sickaflex or similar. So I ended up with an other split boot.
VisaGTi16v 1 Posted February 15, 2007 doh. Must be able to get them from somewhere as they are removeable, will ask at the garage round the corner, waste of a good 309 arm otherwise although I could probably just swap one over from my 1.6 arms if I swapped them
