M@tt 77 Posted July 12, 2006 not entirely sure what you mean mate by "marks"?? do you mean different versions of the car as in phases? eg ph2 = black interior and clear indicators etc or are you thinking there are different versions of the engine? i might be completely missing the point but is that what your asking? matty_gti 20 Posted July 12, 2006 yeha i mean different versions of the engine. I know theres a phase 1 enigne (105bhp) and theres a phase 2 engine (115bhp) My GTi is a phase 1.5, (F reg) it has phase 1 lights and a be1 gear box but a phase 2 dash board and engine i belive. It has torx head bolts instead of normal headed bolts, and on the throttle housing you can only change the idle speed and not the mixture i think. Hope that helps. M@tt 77 Posted July 12, 2006 well if you got a 1.6 gti then you will have/need a xu5 engine 115bhp and if you have a 1.9 gti then you will have/need the xu9 engine 130bhp it's very unlikely you'll have a 105 bhp block which was the low compression 1.9 one and pretty rare HTH
