Veero 1 Posted July 12, 2006 Had the Mi16 running now for a while and gradually ironing out all the niggling problems. However something that is ongoing is an overrun when lifting off. Sometimes the revs seem to hang at 1500-2000 on idle. Now Im fairly certain this is not an air leak. Ive now got the correct 405 AFM to TB pipe and its sealed well and if I blip the throttle the revs raise with the pedal action and then quickly lifting off drops the revs back to spot on 1000 revs or just under, perfect idle really. The idle is stable hence not thinking it's an air leak. And I have to blip it even just going slowly through traffic. Any ideas what this could be? I have adjusted the throttle cable so there is no chance it isnt allowing the throttle to return properly. Could it be the butterflies not fully shutting, the ICV opening too much, or the idle control switch badly adjusted? Ive backed off the butterfly limit screws so they should be definitely closing fully. Cheers Veero
Anthony 1,003 Posted July 12, 2006 Could be a worn throttle body, as I've seen quite a few Mi ones like this - when it's sitting there idling too high, try forceably closing the linkages for both of the throttle spindles - if the revs drop down, then there's your problem. I've seen loads of Mis with that fault recently including my own which I thought I'd fixed but it seems the new TB is a bit worn too, found that out just now on the way to the bloody MOT center of course
