Ryan 99 Posted July 11, 2006 My handbrake cables are stretched incredibly tight, and rub slightly on the bottom corner of the rear damper mounts. They've not done it yet, but I can see them eventually catching when I go over a bump and locking the wheels - which is what happened with the old ones, and is why I replaced them in the first place. How much longer are 209 cables, as hopefully they'd give me enough slack to tie them up away from the suspension. I'm starting to think my 205 is 2 inches longer than all the others, because exhausts don't fit right either.
jackherer 543 Posted July 11, 2006 my mates 205 has 309 cables fitted and they actually drag on the ground if he has people in the back so its not recommended, they are too long to go flat under the shell so you can't get them into many of the clips, or if you can get them in they pop out as soon as you use them. somehow he got through an mot with them on though its odd that standard cables dont fit your car, exhausts wont fit because of the Mi16 probably, they can end up pushed back an inch or two (or even more) depending on how the downpipe/manifold was done.
