Clutch: Problems

Recommended Posts

Got a BE1 gearbox...

Clutch cable snapped on track on sat, taking out the rad in the process.

Fitted a new clutch cable this afternoon, but it doesnt seem to be doing as planned

The release arm isnt budging at all (towards the battery) It has some play in it (up, down, back), but nothing like a full pedal depress.

suggestions.... The cable follows the same route as old one... the pedal is mega mega stiff! .... because the arm appears to be stuck

The clutch fork may have come off the release bearing... This happened with mine when i broke the cable, and another time when i was refitting the box. I would hope for your sake that it isn't this, but it happens really easily with the Be1s.

I presume you replaced the pin between the fork and arm? It would have disappeared when the cable snapped. It is a really bad design...
