Engine Mount Gone?

Recommended Posts

notamondayfan

hey guys.

quick question. when driving my 205, i lift off the accelerator, and the whole car (engine) seems to kangeroo around.

am i right in thinking my lower engine mount is shot? if so, does any 1 have the part number for it?

thanks, deano!

Hi,

I recently changed the top engine and gearbox mounts (bottom mount changed last summer) and kangarooing reduced a lot. You will be surprised at the difference it makes!

It's worth remembering 205's kangaroo badly when you just lift off anyway - have a search for information about the throttle position sensor (TPS) which will tell you more about the kangarooing habits

They don't when they're properly set up.!

It took two years to get mine there though...

I'll start a separate topic on how I managed it. It's a long story...

Looks good, except I'd go for a group N as peugeot's rubber mounts are softer than the originals......

sorry to dig this up, but im still having a slight knocking / jerking when lifting off the accelerator.

could the other smaller bush have worn too? i cant seem to find a part number for it anywhere, and had plenty of trouble getting the larger mount last time.

thanks, dean
