How Much Power Is Possible 1.6 Gti Xu Engine?

Just wondering here. What is the highest power possible from a tuned/race going 1.6 engine has been achieved from you guys? Anyone have some high reliable figures? Flow tests too maybe?

There was a race car featured in CCC a couple of times (gold/green and owned by Andrew Varey, though since sold on) which put out 167bhp iirc. Dave Walker wrote on it and had worked on the engine management (Emerald with a std throttle body due to championship regs).

OK it was a 16v 1.6 mi16 but thats a XU is it not. Apart from that just over 180 on carbs, 8v engine plenty of head work, rods pistons cams and modified ign it could of made more but it had to last a whole season.
