matty_gti 20 Posted July 9, 2006 hi all. last nite my cylinder head decided to break two of the bolts that go threw the engine mount on the drivers side in to the head, the metal around the bolts being the head its self exploded and managed to dent the inside of my bonnet, master cylinder and belt cover causing it to rub on the belt, as this happend my engine then droped bout 1.5 inches on the drivers side and as i was in 1st gear pulling away, it decide it would try and change gear until 'BANG', a horrible chrunching noise and then the burning smell of my cambelt. Im only a novice on cars, and my parnets just say "sell it" but i cant let her go so i need to have her fixed. Is there any one in the 'south east' england in surrey (im at junction 9 of the M25) that would be willing to help with my problems of swapping the head, which i have a spare allready and then swapping the gear box??. or if any one knows a very reliable place that will do it and wont cost and arm and both legs and tell you you have to sell ur parents, i would be very very gratfull. If I were you I'ld buy another car for the old running about in, take your 205 off the road, buy a haynes manual and some tools and learn how to do it yourself. But getting hold of a engine and box and whacking that in might well be the quicker option, then you could learn on the existing engine while its out of the car. But what ever you do, Good luck!
