Mi16 Inlet Supports, They Needed?

Recommended Posts

KRISKARRERA

I just saw Andy C's new engine pics and noticed something that my engine hasn't got: an inlet manifold support bracket.

Here it is in this picture. (arrowed)

Is it really needed?

It would probably be wise to have both fitted as the inlet mani and tb etc are pretty heavy.

I never normally fit these on, There are a pain just as the old 8v Inlet support which I bet many don;t have now.

The 16v's did have one by the Alt and Throttle body, the latter only being a couple of thin bit's of metal

I would think that as the engine lifting brackets are attached to the inlet manifold, both of the support brackets you are talking about help reduce the stress when lifting the engine.
