m.i-man 0 Posted July 8, 2006 (edited) What is the fuse rating for the OE fuel pump in the 205/309 1.9 gti? Or does it not have one? When fitting carbs, does the switch live to the coil require a fuse? If so what rating? Can the above two be run from the same source (for ease), if so what would be the fuse rating for both on one cable? Where's the best place to run the switched live from? I'm only asking this, as I know the original cables in cars are usually amp rated to what they are feeding, so I don't want to put too much load through one cable! Which ignition chip is meant to be used for the carb conversion? On the site homepage, it says 1.9 gti 8v chip, are these the same as the 16v ones? As atm the kit I have is running the MTR01 ending in ...123, which I think is 16v!! If the ignition system is classed as electronic, is the only way to test the coil by using a meter? Or can you just earth the king lead for a visual spark? I know these probably sound really silly question and I have probably thought to long and hard about things that I need not to, but hey...... *edit* what sealent do people use for split rims? I have been told to use a silicone based sealent... but that wasn't much help as there's 1000's of silicone based sealents ranging from household to gasket sealent!! Also, the gate on the BE-1 box for reverse is poo. It doesn't work basically, and I can't figure out how to adjust/fix it. ablister 31 Posted July 8, 2006 You could use a double relay to control the fuel pump and the coil, just connect the igntion switched wire to both relays. Tow bar wiring uses this setup. If i were you, i'd wire up the fuel pump feed via an inertia switch to be safe. Not sure on what amp rating, sorry.
