SamGTi 0 Posted July 7, 2006 The heatshield half way down my exhaust (the one that protects the fuel tank from exhaust heat) has fallen off due to corrosion. Is it safe to drive my car or is the heat from my exhaust (Magnex) going to cause the petrol to self combust or anything? And where can I get a replacement heatshield from (if I need one!)? GLPoomobile 958 Posted July 7, 2006 I think the genral consensus recently was that it is OK. Mine is corroded at the front mounting and rattles around. They are apparently a ridiculous price from Pug. You could just replace it with some adhesive backed heatshield. No idea where is best to get it but you can try the Motorsport section of Demon Tweeks as a starting point.
Grim.Badger 15 Posted July 7, 2006 Get down to a scrapyard for a replacement, better safe than sorry. Neither of my 205s have had rusty heatshields so you should be able to get an intact one.

mak 0 Posted July 7, 2006 Being the tight gits that they are, peugeot will cut costs at any given oppurtunity, therefore, if its there, its there for a reason.
