Have A Blown My Turbo

Recommended Posts

Ant

Well its going from bad to worse - First i kill my 306 so i drove my 2.0 turbo to work.. Its only boosting at .025 bar, so not running perfectly. It drives fine, but its obviously not right..

Anyway, nip to mcdonalds at lunch and it starts cluncking.. I limped the 3 miles or so back at about 15 miles per our, never getting out of second.. It was clunking all the way, worse when i touched the accelerator :)

Its back at work and i'm gonna ring the AA at 5ish to sort getting it home.

Would overfuelling slightly cause any major damage and make it clunk like hell..

Never had a bottom end go, so im not sure what that would sound like, but its defo not healthy :)

Cheers

hello again rich :)

I'm fast becoming a pain :)

Idles fine.. Its clunking like hell and when you accelerate you can hear something knocking.. Do think its the bottom end :(

Oh well.. And the worse part is, there was a scrappy that had one of these lumps in with no loom or ECU... hence i never brought it.. Rang him, as it was cheap and he's got rid of it a few weeks ago cuz it never sold :(

Oh well, gonna ring the AA again at 5 ish.. Second time in 24 hours.. Least ive had my monies worth B)

hello matey!

i spose if the engine sounds terminal, get it compression checked and start from there.

clunking and knocking, i wonder if its spun a bearing cap.? well whatever it is, it doesnt sound healthy

sounds like your having loads of fun!!

check your oil, if you have been overfueling your engine for a long time you might have gotten fuel in the oil. If so, it might be a bearing thats screwed.

knacker on load sounds like a rod-bearing (can't figure out the english word for these right now :) )

As above i'd drop your oil, if its really thin and smells of petrol then this could well have caused damage as it thins the oil so it wont be doing its job. Look for any metal particals etc does sound like the bigends. I really wouldnt start it again until you do this because you'll more than likely do more damage.

Well the AA came out and the CV boot had slid off the boot, and lost all the grease.. Sounds Terrible when driving, so i think it was that... scared the hell out of me . but panic over i think . Gonna check the oil and boost anyway

hi mate, do hope it isnt the engine, cv joints can make an awful noise, but normally you hear them gradually going? anyway if it is your engine? i know where there is a 2.0l turbo engine, was a good runner, probably quite cheap too :P, if you need drop me a post, and ill see if i can get it,
