Not keen on them my self, Put extra load on the gearbox sync hub's as the force is altered, The gear lever mod I do and now a few others is better (IMO) and keep the OE feel of the gearchange

Surely no matter where you alter the linkage the net end force is going to be altered in the same way for a given reduction in travel?

Not strictly so, the GE L bracket extends the side that works on the gearbox side of the linkages which causes the problems Miles mentioned where his version, although shortening all movement doesn't change things as severely imo.
