Guest Lil Black Pug Posted July 4, 2006 Right, Bought this car as a wreck for the mrs and gradually been sorting it out and generally its going ok, but, im finding that a lot of the general maintenance parts for a car of this age are an absolute fortune and only available from a main dealer?!!! Car developed a fuel leak around an injector, (1991 1600 Ph2) stripped it and looks like the rubber seal has failed. On any other car these are like 10p but Pug want £2.37 For a car this age I thought I might aswell replace all 8 or at least just the top 4 but at this price im not sure, where can I get the bits i need without spending nearly £20 for rubber washers? nick 3 Posted July 4, 2006 I need some of these. I was just going to go to a hardware store and just buy the right size. Or I'm sure a decent motor factors would have them in stock. Nick
pug_ham 244 3 Cars Posted July 4, 2006 I was looking for some of these last year when I fitted the plastic inlet manifold to my engine for the MAP sensor take off point & they are an awkward size than you'll be lucky to find anywhere but from the dealers. I tried without success & got them from Citroen in the end but they weren't that expensive iirc & they are sold in pairs(per injector) although priced individually. Try finding somewhere local that does injector reconditioning & see if they'll sell you a couple, got to be less than Pug will charge. Graham.
Guest eddscruff Posted July 5, 2006 If you let me know what size you want i'll rob some from work for you. Edd
Guest Lil Black Pug Posted July 6, 2006 Finally found some at Southern Carbs! Still 50p each pluys VAT but could be worse I suppose! Still finding that all basic rubbers etc for these cars are well over-priced!
