feb 47 Posted July 4, 2006 Does anyone know where I can find good quality driveshafts (not reconditioned) or who is the supplier of peugeot? It's the next item on the list to change I contacted Quaife who do a pair of heavy duty driveshafts http://www.quaife.co.uk/catalogue/page56.htm for the 205 for £90 but these are only for cars with adjustable front negative camber and they are longer than standard items so won't fit. What a pity as the price is dead cheap! Maybe worth looking at for the rally boys! Thanks,
Guest Johnthefish Posted July 4, 2006 Have you tried GFS or allparts these 2 places usually have everything you need! If not I've been plesantly suprised at some of the prices peugeot have given me lately! Might be worth giving them a call and asking! You would probably be able to find out the manufacturer they use from them!! If you find out the manufacturer and the part number then call Allparts and tell them this they will probably be able to get them in 4 u Hell of a shame quaife don't do uprated standard length driveshafts How much longer were they than the standard ones ? There has got to be somewhere that you can get uprated/heavy duty driveshafts out there!!
pug_ham 244 3 Cars Posted July 4, 2006 Ask any decent motorfactors if they can get GKN driveshafts, these have new ends joints fitted afaik & are the best quailty I've found apart from Peugeot. Maybe the Quaife ones are better for use on a 205 fitted with 309 wishbones? There is a company that advertises in the back of motorsport news every week, drivelink, the offer uprated driveshafts for motorsport use. Graham.
steendp 0 Posted July 4, 2006 Possibly the Quaiffe driveshafts fits the 309? I have sent an inquiry to Quaiffe - will let you know the responce.
Sam 4 Posted July 5, 2006 Excellent, could well do with some proper shafts feb: GKN shafts seem to get excellent reports.
steendp 0 Posted July 5, 2006 Quaife quoted me 190£ + VAT + freight. Also they didn't answer then question I sent them (usable for 309 with standard top mount?), so I think I'll pass.
ablister 31 Posted July 5, 2006 GKN make driveshafts for peugeot
feb 47 Posted July 5, 2006 Thanks guys, i will try to source some GKN ones. As for the quaife ones i phoned the number here: http://www.quaife.co.uk/catalogue/page56.htm i am pretty sure he said £90 for a pair unless i missed the '1' (it is too good to be true though!) Rob_the_Sparky 9 Posted July 5, 2006 My GSF shaft I got recently was a GKN
Beastie 1 Posted July 5, 2006 I have just bought a GKN shaft from GSF also. I did double check on the phone before I collected it "that will be a GKN shaft won't it?" The guy sounded slightly surprised, "of course" he said and sounded as though they wouldn't consider selling anything else I seem to remember that there was a choice of either cheap shafts or GKN ones from them in the past. I'm not sure what the retail price is, but it was very reasonable trade.
ada205 2 Posted July 6, 2006 This place might be worth a try. Pretty much supply anything to rally a 205, so may have uprated shafts, though there seems to be a cock up on the ds items currently.
