ALEX 98 1 Cars Posted July 3, 2006 Anyone took their petrol cap apart? Is there a anti-vac valve inside? Mine's leaking fumes and I'm wondering if the anti-vac valve is stuck open.
jim21070 2 Posted July 3, 2006 Mine does a bit. I think it is just the combination of the rubber seal getting a bit old and past it and running Super (BP Ultimate) which have a greater proportion of "light-ends" in the blend which evaporate much more readily and are good at finding little gaps around seals. ALEX 98 1 Cars Posted July 3, 2006 The rubber looks O.K. to me. Iv'e noticed its worse just after driving on hot days. Thats what make me think it's a anti-vac valve. There must be some system of letting air back into the tank to allow for used fuel. If the valve's not on the cap, then where is it?
