Coolant Drain Plug

Recommended Posts

trickywoo

The Haynes manual says there is a drain plug above the drive shaft on the drivers side. I can see where two coolant hoses join a union in that area and what looks like an allen key hole. Is that the drain plug? If not what does it look like and where is it (whats it near?)

The original rad as fitted in the factory would have had one low down on the nearside but very few after-market replacement ones do. I suspect that you have the latter.

Nothing for it but to pull the bottom hose... Messy.

There is also a block drain plug in the end of the coolant distribution block at the back of the engine, where the hose comes from the expansion tank, heater & bottom rad hose fits.

Graham.
