Wierd Clunky Noise From Front Drivers Side?

hey people

 

My daily driver 306 has started to make a wierd clunky / banging noise from the front drivers side

 

It happens when i go over uneven ground / pot holes but not when i go over speed humps or on normal flat road.

 

problem is that i need to get up to swindon and back tonight... gona whip the wheel off when i get home to have a quick look but i know a few people off here have had 306's so may be able to point me in the right direction? can anyone suggest what i may want to be looking for? it sounds like something is lose...

Classic drop link failure

My 205 has started doing this too (more of a knock) but on the passenger side and only when going round a right hand bend over bumpy ground, strange thing is it was fine untill I put my new engine in... must have disturbed the drop link and finished it off. Oh well they're cheap as chips to replace anyway.

 

Do you get the problem when your going straight or does it seem cornering related?

sounds like drop links, mine tend only to last about 10k miles cos of the rough roads round me.
