pugpete1108 62 1 Cars Posted June 29, 2006 going to get all my wiring for the mi/emerald conversion tommorow and thought i might as well get the battry done while i am there. but as i am putting the battery in the boot i am unsure what rating or size dia it needs to be. should i just go for the largest i can get ? to be safe or is that overkill. it states it can take 415 amps is that too much? that is for 14.5 mm dia cable has anyone done this ? Ryan 99 Posted June 29, 2006 The bigger the cable the less voltage drop there will be along it's length, so the more volts will reach the stsrter. 415amp is VERY big though. 300amp is what a lot of people use and even thats a bit on the big side IMO.
