Gti Hubs On A Base Model With 306 Dt Brakes?

got a set of 1.6 gti hubs kickin about, can i transfer them too my base model 205??

thing is tho im using 306 diesel turbo brakes..

so is this all gonna tie together??

if not could someone explain what doesnt fit and why as i have done a search and none of the previous posts explain??!!

If you have a set of 1.6 GTi hubs then all the brakes you can fit to them afaik are the ones for a 1.6 GTi due to the offset.

 

What size 306 D turbo brakes have you got? They will be either 247mm (same as 205 1.9 GTI) or 266mm but both should fit straight onto the base model hubs afaik.

Yup, as Graham says - retain your existing base model hubs and all the 306 range of brakes will bolt straight on, whereas they won't onto 1.6 hubs due to the differing offset.

my base model wheel bearings are worn out the 1.6gti ones where just gonna be a quick fix!!!

thanks for the help youve saved me a few hours in the garage!!!

Loads of base models in the scrappy - time to go liberate a pair of hubs me thinks :)

Fit a new pair of wheel bearings then, lots longer lasting than risking a pair from a scrapyard that might have ovalled ball joint holes etc.
