justinv 4 1 Cars Posted June 27, 2006 would a 4-2-1 exhaust manifold and a variable fuel regulator do much difference in performance ??
d-9 0 Posted June 27, 2006 Variable fuel pressure regulator will put more petrol in. This will make it run rich unless you have more air to burn it with. Ditto bigger injectors. You could cam it, fit a XU10 head and a magnex manifold, dont f*** about with the fueling unless you have a wideband lambda sensor to monitor the airfuel ratio, if you put too much petrol in you'll wash the bores and kill the bottom end. justinv 4 1 Cars Posted June 27, 2006 mmmm thinking of the cam thing what would be the best cam kit, at the mom running on cosworth injectors not the 500 ones and cosworth fuel pump.
d-9 0 Posted June 27, 2006 Pull the dipstick out and see if it smells of petrol.
justinv 4 1 Cars Posted June 27, 2006 it has the blue injectors what i am thinking of is 4-2-1 exhaust, fibre bonnet variable fuel regulator and replacing the 1.9 wheels by the standard 1.6 this is what i can think of right now
Cameron 16 Posted June 27, 2006 whats the xu10 head off? Exhaust - yes. Fibreglass / carbon bonnet (hard to tell what you mean) - yes. Fuel regulator - no, not without breathing mods and a remap 1.6 wheels - just get a 1.6 box in it
d-9 0 Posted June 28, 2006 lol if its already got cosworth injectors, then the fueling is going to be pretty f***ed up already unless it has a variable FPR
justinv 4 1 Cars Posted June 28, 2006 but it runs well and it is fast i don;t think it is f***ed up then ??
d-9 0 Posted June 28, 2006 ok, this is amazingly simple. A turbo engine needs lots of petrol. A non-turbo engine needs less. If you put the fuel system off a turbo car, onto a non turbo car, it will put too much petrol in, unless you lower the fuel pressure or remap the ecu. Do you get smoke when you start up, or a puff when you floor it when your overtaking? A car can still be fast and f*** the bottom end at the same time.
