leigh1900 1 Posted June 25, 2006 just had new engine put in my 1.9 the guy that done it was a cowboy and screwed up the wiring. i'm in process of redoing the wires but the plug to the sad is missing and i cant locate it anywhere i'll keep looking but was wondering that the fact that this plug is not connected would this cause the massive overfueling problem that i'm having at moment. the car starts then chucks it after 30 secs and stinks of fuel i've had to clean out oil as it was full of fuel. cheers leigh
brianthemagical 1 Posted June 25, 2006 don't think mind did that when i was "testing" it. are you sure the temp switch is correct on the back of the block, not far from the sad (twin wire). the afm could also have this effect i think. i assembled my inlet stuff, tryed to start and it only ran if i was using the accelerator due to over fueling. assuming the plug is intact and the afm is correct, get a wiring diagram and test for continuity on the correct wires. I would be interested to know if, after this problem, your oil pressure goes through thee roof (or at least the guage reading) as I've had a couple of times with extreme overfuelling like this.
