ok when my car is at idle the dash and whole car vibrates alot and then dip the clutch and then it stops and there is a weird tapping noise when you let the clutch out again :P . now ive had this before when my gearbox came away from the engine but i fixed that 2 months ago. could it be this again or a wrecked lower mount? help please

My XS makes the same sort of noise (though not as much vibration) at around 500rpm (used to have overreading tacho), and it's got a knackered bottom mount too, so it may well be that. Have to get around to sorting out an uprated one... :P

sounds like same fault maybe lower mount, check your gearbox bolts are all tight, if the box has been fitted without dowels the bolts work loose,

sounds to me like dodgy thrust bearing or input shaft on the box, both could of been damaged by previous problem.

Sounds like the mount playing up.

Better have a look before it gives up the ghost while driving.

mine did the same thing after the box and block tried to part company, swiftly followed by a loud bang and no drive as I'd torn the centre out of the clutch friction plate...

I had this with my GT. I think you need to adjust the clutch cable mate. :(

I had the exact same symptoms as this, with the exact same conclusion as CB-Dave.
